This course aims to prepare students in planning and justifying their research project. In the first half of the course, students will learn how to choose a topic, specify the focus of their research, develop the research questions and identify the key concepts that are essential in their planned research. Online discussions and peer reviews will also be incorporated using Moodle. This will provide students with the opportunity to discuss their writing, get feedback, and contribute their views and resources to others. Every student will obtain the necessary support in drafting the three chapters required in a thesis proposal; namely, the introduction, literature review and research methodology.
The second half of the course will be devoted to finalizing the remaining chapters of the research. Students will learn how to summarize and present their results by using appropriate tables, charts or other figures, and to explain their meaning and importance in the Discussion Section. The limitations of the findings and some possible future improvements on the research will have to be included in the section. Then, summing up in the Conclusion.
