The course aims to equip
students with in-depth knowledge about the fundamentals of the energy market,
trade, demand and services. It is fundamental to understand why price continues
to be a strong signal for managing energy demand and market. The discourse on
demand and production now needs to be understood in the context of SDG 12,
which addresses the question of sustainable production and consumption. So the
course aims to cover the non-price incentives that can influence demand and why
they are needed along with price incentives. It aims to cover the most recent
trend in agent-based models, how to model the preferences of various socio-economic
categories: households, industries, transport/mobility.
