This course is
designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of some of the most
advanced techniques in hatchery management, including broodstock management,
induced spawning, nutrition, health management, and genetic improvement of the
most important cultivable finfish and shellfish in aquaculture. The course will
familiarise students with specific techniques for larval rearing, feeding and
nursery rearing protocols, broodstock and fry vaccination, and the application
of biofloc and nanobubble technologies to hatchery systems. The course
emphasizes imparting the advanced skills essential for hatchery managers
through practicum and on-field training.
